Background Checks

Much like the process of jury selection before trial, assessing the background of witnesses can give a litigator two distinct advantages.  First, it allows an attorney to be certain that a witness is free of conflicts of interest before they give testimony.  Second, it brings to light any conflicts that may exist with witnesses being called by opposing council.  This is important when utilizing the testimony of a layman but it shows its full potential when calling upon an expert witness.  Questionable pieces written in career publications, personal entanglements with a litigant, a history of bias toward the prosecution or defense, having knowledge of any of these things allows an attorney to preempt testimony that may hurt their client's case or dismantle the opposing party's case by exposing a compromised witness during cross examination.

To this end, we offer the Integrity Verification Service (IVS).  This deep probe into a subject's professional and personal background is assigned jointly to our research and investigative teams.  The process includes searching through professional publications, interviewing employers and peers, review of a subject's social media activity, and examining public records to determine whether or not a witness is fit to provide testimony.
